Matthew Hilton New Website
Matthew Hilton has just launched a new image-focused website with a large format gallery and intuitive navigation. Designed by Spin and built by Archive Studio, the website highlights the product photography shot by the designer himself, providing a clear visual story for the brand.
Matthew Hilton photographs his furniture primarily in two locations: the De La Espada factory, with its stark light and textures and the New Customs House Alfandega Nova do Porto in Portugal with its robust materials and diverse visual references ranging from a medieval church to art gallery. Matthew Hilton explains his choice of locations thus, “I do not want to prescribe the way my furniture is seen. To put my furniture into a modernist home or a fine French Chateau is too prescriptive. The locations I choose show a vague sense of domesticity but also a very strong aesthetic which hopefully allows freer interpretation.”
